Aileron repair and rebuild
Rebuilding
ailerons presents a
different form of challenge.
Many
aircraft, such as Piper ailerons have a slight twist
incorporated into it's
design. The
purpose for this twist is to
conform to the wing's “washout”. The
Cessna aircraft, incorporating corrugated skins, has a “washout”
built into the
outer portion of the aileron.
RJ designed an
“alignment table”
(patent pending), and is the only one of its type in
existence. The
purpose of this alignment table is to
“freeze” position the aileron in place.
In reality, it simply simulates the control as
positioned on the
wing. There are
other “elements”
relating to keeping the corrugation upper and lower skins in
alignment to one
another, particularity in the outboard section where the
“washout” is
present. We
incorporated a method to
accomplish this; it is also an “IN HOUSE SECRET”.
Whether it be
Cessna, Piper,
Beechcraft, etc. We
are equipped to be
of service to the rebuilding of your aileron.
