Flaps Repair and Rebuild

Some flaps have a very slight twist, most do not.  Many Cessna's are equipped with flap track hinges.  It is very important that the inner and outer hinges are in perfect alignment.  It is of equal importance all four hinge track bolts (4) are in complete alignment with each other.  If perfect alignment is not maintained, the flap will be positioned incorrectly, once installed.

 

Other aircraft, such as many Piper models are equipped with several hinge mounting points; these must also be in alignment to one another.  If alignment is not maintained between these hinge points, mounting the control may not be possible; or, at the very least, cause stress to the control itself.
